“Joe” of all Trades

Joeblog.jpg

I have to say that my husband never ceases to amaze me.  We are opposites in many ways and Joe’s “I can do anything” attitude is one attribute I really wish I had.  Joe is replacing our front and back brakes on the van before we leave for Ft. Walton Beach this Friday.   He has done the front before, but not the back brakes on the van.  He is also changing the oil, plugs, wires, etc.  None of this is new to Joe, but he did run into some difficulty getting the drums off the back.  I would have thrown my hands up in defeat long before Joe would even think of doing that.  He is so patient and persistant- and it always pays off in the end.

Joe always says, “If I can read about it, I can do it” and he always does it well.

Water Balloons!

Water Balloons.jpg

While Joe and I were cleaning out Isaac and Truitt’s room yesterday we came across a package of water balloons.  Since we were in dire need of a break we decided to fire up the hose and *get rid* of the water balloons.  The boys had a blast.  Owen kept running to Joe saying “Peas, Peas!” (his version of please).  He loved the balloons that had sprung a leak.  Once Joe got tired of filling the balloons Isaac took over.  He did a great job.  The boys even cleaned up all the balloon scraps when they were done!

Mr. Turtle

Our neighbor across the street found this turtle behind her trash cans this morning.  It’s amazing how excited all the kids in the neighborhood were.  Isaac had a friend over, Ben K., and they even stopped playing PlayStation to come out and meet the turtle.

“That?”

Owen’s favorite word du jour.

Playstation and brotherly love

Playstation.jpg

Isaac and Owen were up before 7am today. They both went to the basement and Isaac got Owen all set up on a stool, plugged in a controller for him and played “Need for Speed”. I’m sure my pediatician wouldn’t be thrilled that Owen is playing Playstation at 15 months, but the whole scene was just so sweet. I know Owen felt like a *BIG* boy and he looked like one too.

Hangin’ in the Crib

Nicholas and Owen are good little buddies- but they also have a little “sibling” rivalry going on. Kelly and I just love to watch them “duke” it out over a toy or just for a little bit of our attention. The boys get together on a daily basis now that it’s summer. Today we put them both in Owen’s crib. I tried to get a photo them together, but those little buggers just move too fast.

Someday we’ll have to break it to them that they’re not actually brothers.

Street Beach

Street Beach 1.jpg

I was standing in neighbor Tori’s driveway this afternoon and shot this photo of Owen.  I showed her the photo and said, “Doesn’t this look like it was taken at the beach?”.  She said, “Yeah, the street beach.”  So, here is Owen playing at the “street beach”.

Elaina

This is Elaina.  She is such a sweet baby!  I promised my friend and co-worker, Suzanne, that I would come and take photos of her this summer.  I was a little bit nervous since this would be the first time I went to someone’s house specifically to take photos.  Elaina was the perfect model- full of smiles.  I think I got some great shots.  I’ll be sharing via Snapfish if anyone is interested in seeing the rest.

Thanks for having me Suzanne and Kevin!

Neighborhood Brunch

Brunch.jpg

I love it when all the neighbors get together for a little *potluck*.  We usually do dinner, this time we tried a little Sunday brunch.  French toast casserole, cheesey potatoes and sausage and egg casserole- everything was so yummy!

Thanks for hosting Justin and Kelly!
