Our Weekend

Weekend.jpg

We’ve had a pretty quiet weekend.  Saturday was just downright ugly (weather-wise).  I met up with some people from school Saturday night.  One of our teachers is in a band, Low Country Boil, that plays in a great little place in Loveland.  We met for dinner and stayed for some great music.  It was a lot of fun!

Sunday, Joe headed up to Cleveland for the Browns game (as of 3rd quarter they are WINNING!).  Isaac had a soccer game @ 3:00.  Owen wouldn’t nap today.  He did pretty well until it was time to leave the soccer game.  After we got home he fell asleep laying in the middle of the living room floor.  Poor pooped little man!  I also included a photo of an uninvited lunch guest.  The boys love to eat outside and apparently so does our friend Mr. Squirrel!

Hands!

My seventh graders are just finishing up their first big project.  I always start out the year with an assignment that introduces many different artists and media.  It helps the students to get familiar with where things are in the art room as well as how to use different materials.  Can anyone recognize any of the artists represented?  Yes, this is a pop quiz!

This semester I’m teaching Art 7 and Copper Tooling.  I really miss having an Art 8 class.  Luckily, I have two next semester :).

Browns vs. Bengals

Today is our annual Browns/Bengals tailgate party.  Of course, we are the only Browns fans in the neighborhood, but that never stops us from putting on a good little party.  We started this morning with a breakfast potluck (my favorite).  Now we are on to Sloppy Joes, chips and beer. I’m taking a break from the festivities to post.  Our Brownies aren’t looking so good right now :(.  We’re having fun whether they win or lose!

Our Saturday Adventure

Some of you are probably thinking, “Aren’t these supposed to be photos of tailgating?”.  We had planned to travel to Columbus to tailgate with my brother and his wife Lori.  They have a full size OSU bus (it’s awesome!).  Anyway, we were on our way this morning and got a flat about 15 miles from the stadium.  After two hours on the side of the highway, two tow trucks (long story) and two and a half hours at Wal-mart Tire & Lube- we decided to call it a day.  We never made it to the game :(.  Most of you probably think that sounds like a pretty awful way to spend a Saturday.  Luckily our boys felt otherwise.  I think they had a blast today.  They caught crickets and butterflies on the side of the highway, watched big trucks go by, rode in a tow truck, hitchhiked and bought Star Wars figures at Wal-mart.  It just doesn’t get any better than that!

A Day out with Thomas

Wow, it’s been a very busy weekend.  Joe’s been out of town so I wanted to do something fun with the boys today.  I was planning to take them to the zoo, but then I heard “Thomas” was in town.  This morning we headed up to Lebanon to check out “A Day out with Thomas”.  The boys loved it.  I think they liked the petting zoo more than anything- especially Owen.  He loved the animals!  Truitt also had a great time in the bounce house- I love that shot!

Red’s Game

Reds Game.jpg

Joe and three of our neighbors (Dave, Patty and Justin) played in a scramble a few weeks ago.  They won tickets to a Red’s game, but Joe and Justin couldn’t make the game.  Dave graciously ducked out and the *girl’s* made a night of it.  We had a blast!  We had great seats, the weather was perfect, and we had great entertainment- not the game (the Red’s lost :( )- the guys sitting next to us.  We laughed a lot- thanks to George- he was “super cool” (sorry guys, inside joke :) ).

Isaac’s *first* soccer game . . .

Isaacs first game.jpg

Isaac is playing for the St. Vincent soccer team again this year.  Saturday was his first game.  He did a great job!  It’s amazing how much the boys improve from year to year.  Truitt had a game right after Isaac’s.  I didn’t get any pictures :(.  Owen was getting a little tired of soccer by then.  Truitt also did an awesome at his game!

More soccer . . .

Here are a few more pics from Saturday- Owen finding another flag on the soccer field, my two cutie soccer boys before their games and Truitt and his “brudder” from school.

Happy Birthday Mom!
