Carving Pumpkins

Carving Pumpkins.jpg

We carved pumpkins tonight!  Isaac did all the “dirty” work for his pumpkin.  Truitt pretty much just drew his face.  He gets extremely squirmish around the pumpkin guts.  Luckily, neighbor Katie bravely volunteered to “de-gut” True’s pumpkin.  Kelly and Nancy also carved their pumpkins [Nancy refuses to be photographed].  They all turned out so cute!

Hall-zoo-ween!

Zoo.jpg

It was a pretty chilly evening for the zoo, but we had a great time anyway.  We got to see the polar bears munching on some pumpkins, trick-or-treat and ride the “choo-choo”. Notice who’s not Winnie-the-Pooh!

Cuties!

I asked the boys to try on some costumes we had stored away in the basement.  Kelly invited us to go to the zoo for “Hall-zoo-ween” with she and Nicholas.  They give some of the animals pumpkins to eat and the kids can trick-or-treat right in the zoo.  Anyway, we don’t have our official costumes yet.  Aunt B bought these a few years back on super-duper clearance.  She bought giant sizes so the costumes still fit the boys.  Isaac informed me that there was NO WAY he was going anywhere as Winnie-the-Pooh.   However, I did coax him into posing for a few pics :).

Happy FIRST birthday Kate!

Kates B-day.jpg

Kate’s birthday party was on Saturday evening.  It’s been so long since we’ve been able to hang out with Joe’s side of the family.  It was great to see everyone (well almost everyone).  The boys love seeing their cousins- they had a blast.  Jane and Max’s birthdays are both in October so they celebrated as well.  Thanks Matt and Kris for the YUMMY food, cute embroidered towels (party favors) and just an all around fun evening!

Last [muddy] soccer game

Today was Isaac’s last soccer game of the season.  It was a muddy one!  Which only made it more fun for the boys.  They didn’t have any subs so all the boys played hard the entire game.  They were all pretty beat by the end.

Pet Blessing

Pet Blessing.jpg

About a week ago St. Vincent held their annual pet blessing.  Parents can bring family pets to be blessed by Father George.  To be honest, I completely forgot about the ceremony.  Truitt came home very upset that I didn’t bring “Cutie” (the hermit crab) to the service.  He explained that Father blessed his drawing of Cutie instead.  I think it’s funny that Truitt drew Cutie as a red crab.  Isaac’s drawing is actually pretty accurate.  Isaac included the crab’s original name “Geo” and middle name (given by Truitt) ”Cuty”.  He also remembered to include “Lusy”.  Both drawings were so good I wanted to share them.

All of these photos were taken by my Yearbook staff.  As students turn in their shots I always check them out.  I have some great phtographers this year!

FUN Weekend!

Chicago.jpg

I had such a great time in Chicago!  B and I ate lots of yummy food, walked ALL over town and did a little shopping.  We stayed in the fancy-shmancy Chicago Hilton Friday night (that’s us jumping on the beds) just for fun.

Thanks for all the fun B and Phil!  Let’s do it again soon!

A Weekend Away

Well, I’m off to Chicago!  My flight leaves tonight.  I am SO excited to hang out in the BIG city with my little sister.  It’s not often that I am away from my family.  While I’m extremely excited to stay out late, get up late, get ONE person ready each day, wait 30+ minutes for a seat at a restaurant, etc. I am also a little sad to leave all my little (and big) men.

I took these photos last weekend in the wonderful evening light.  Can you believe I got everyone to stand still?!
