Old Miss Lucy

Lucy1.jpg

This is Lucy . . . my only female companion in the house.  My college roomates and I picked up Lucy and her brother, Linus, from a shelter in Akron, Ohio.  Linus passed away a few years ago.  I think Lucy misses him.  Her favorite person in the house is Owen.  She rubs up against him and he rubs his head back on her.  They are good little buddies.

Remote Control Cars

Uncle Mike and Aunt Lori gave the boys rc cars for Christmas.  These aren’t any old rc cars . . . you can “pimp” these cars.  Last night the boys went to Radio Shack with their dad and bought under carriage lights, new rims and new body parts.  My oldest son, Joe, bought himself a car while he was there.

p.s. The boys faces are very distorted on my computer screen and I don’t know why.  Are they distorted on everyone’s screen?  Post a comment and let me know.  Thanks!

Christmas at [our] home . . .

Christmas home.jpg

Here are some pics of our family Christmas.  This is when we open up our gifts to one another.  The big boys do their shopping at “Santa’s Workshop” at school.  They did a a great job selecting gifts this year.  I think Truitt gave Owen one of his very favorite gifts- a little snowman pillow.  After opening it Owen immediately tried it out.  He’s become very attached to that cute little pillow!

Christmas is in the details . . .

One of my favorite ornaments, a manger scene that Truitt made at school, True’s very special gift bag, an angel Truitt made and then perched on the top of Owen’s tree, the angel that we put on our fresh-cut tree every year, Isaac’s reminder of the Act of Contrition that he memorized and recited at his first reconciliation last week and finally, Isaac playing Grandpa and Grandma “Montana’s” BIG GIANT gift that the boys could not possibly wait until Christmas to open . . . these are just some of the little things that make Christmas so special at my house.  Merry Christmas everyone!

Caden

This cutie is the son of our Assistant Principal who also happened to be my Secret Santa this year.  I put my S.S. through a lot this time around.  Each day I posted a Photoshoped version of his school picture with a different hair style- Napoleon Dynamite, Rod Stewart and John Travolta.  On the last day I posted his senior picture from high school courtesy of his wife.  Great fun!  He was such a good sport.  For his final gift I took some pics of his nine month old son Caden.  He’s such a cute little man with gorgeous blue eyes.

True is SIX!

I know there are a lot of pics here- we had a very busy day!  So busy, in fact, that we never got out the birthday cake!  True woke up bright and early (6am) and was ready to roll (note the first pic with Truitt in his undies).  We opened gifts, took a bath and played invisible Go Fish (thanks Aunt B) while waiting for Owen to nap.  Then we were off to Dave & Busters to play games.  Last we met up with our neighbors and headed to Newport on the Levy.  When we got in the car to head home we told True he had one more gift to open if he could stay awake.  That boy was asleep in about three minutes!  he opened his last gift Sunday morning.  I’ll post some cake pics when we finally eat it!
