Three Isaacs and two Truitts

GoingPlaces.jpg

*Guest Post*

As some of you may know, I work at Chicago Parent and I was laying out a spread this week on Spring Break on a budget and I ended up using three Isaacs and two Truitts in it. I thought it turned out really cute so I am sharing it here, although it will probably be too small to see very well.

Elaina

Here’s cutie #2, little miss Elaina.  You may remember these pictures I took of Elaina back in July (click on “these” to see Elaina’s other pics).  She was just a wee one then.  She is the happiest little girl.  It’s so fun seeing her grow.

Andrew

As luck would have it, I brought my camera to school today and had the opportunity to shoot two little cuties who stopped by to visit their moms at school.  This is Andrew.  He’s four months old and has the most beautiful blue eyes.  I thought he was going to sleep through our little photo shoot, but he woke up in time to show me those gorgeous eyes of his.  Couldn’t you just eat him up!

Best Friends

My boys.jpg

Isaac and Truitt let me snap a quick photo of them this morning after church.  Those two boys are inseperable.  They play together every minute they’re at home.  When Truitt spent the night at a friends house a few weeks back Isaac kept asking when he’d be home.  When Isaac has friends come over and play Truitt always asks if it’s time for them to leave so he can have his “brudder” back.  At school they look out for each other as well.  They lay in their bunk beds and talk to each other every night and decide whicj Star Wars character they are going to “be”.  They are so fortunate to live in the same house with their best friend :) .

Kaleb’s Bowling Party!

Kalebs b-day.jpg

Yesterday we headed north for Kaleb’s 6th birthday party.  I’m so glad we were able to make it.  Isaac had a basketball game Saturday morning and we needed to be back for Eucharistic Sunday this morning.  We are fortunate our boys do so well in the car!  It worked out perfectly.  The party was great.  I love hanging out with Joe’s big family.  We were missing a couple families, but I’m sure we’ll see them at Kristy’s shower in a couple of weeks (as well as some extended family- Leann and Deborah that’s you!)  The twins are getting so big- especially Trenton.  He’s got football in his future.  I think Kaleb had a blast!  I know he loves seeing his cousins as much as they love seeing him.

Snow!

My boys were so excited to wake up to a white world this morning!  Owen was downright astonished.  He kept saying, “What ‘appened?”  Needless to say the boys were itching to go outside and play.  We made a nice big breakfast, then bundled everyone up and headed outside.  It was a blast!  My only wish is that this was Monday.  I could totally use a SNOW DAY!

Isaac’s Book Report

Biography.jpg

Isaac recently completed a biographical book report on Tiger Woods.  Today, he and his classmates dressed up as the person in their report and the students got to ask them questions about their famous person.  I sent a camera with Isaac in hopes of getting a photo of his shining moment as Tiger Woods.  Isaac teacher took group photos of the girls and the boys.  How cute are they!?

Isaac the Director

Lego Movie.jpg

A few weeks ago Isaac discovered Windows Movie Maker.  He’s been experimenting with it on and off ever since.  Last night Truitt went to his first sleep over and didn’t return home until late this morning.  Isaac decided to try his hand at *filming* a Lego Star Wars movie.  The official title is “A War Bigger Than Star Wars”.  He used my digital camera and set up still shots for each of his scenes, added some special effects in a Paint program (his idea) and put the whole thing together in Movie Maker.  He really did a great job!  It blows my mind how easily all of this comes to him! He “filmed” his space scenes on my black jacket, added laser beams in Microsoft Paint (as well as words like “POW” as seen above) and made things fly through the air by dangling them from a piece of string.

Truitt’s *FIRST* Sleepover!

True.jpg

This is not the best photo- we were crazily trying to get out the door so I just picked up my little point-and-shoot.  I felt that I needed to document True’s first BIG sleepover.  Last night Truitt was invited to a sleepover for his friend Alex’s birthday.  When I told True about the party he was very excited, but a little aprehensive about spending the night- his exact words were, “I fink I’m re-wee gonna miss you.”  I was fully prepared to make a midnight run to Alex’s house .  But Truitt stayed until about 10:30 this morning.  He and his friends had a blast.  They watched movies, ate pizza and stayed up until about 11:30.  When he got home he couldn’t stop talking about it.  I told him that I really missed him and he said, “I didn’t miss you mom.”  I told him I was glad he didn’t miss me because that means he had lots of fun.
