A War Bigger Than Star Wars
Isaac’s first feature film has finally been released! He created every aspect of this film by himself. I just figured out how to get it on to You Tube
.

Enjoy!
I’m loving this . . .

Wow, I am just so impressed with what my students are coming up with on this project! This is the first one with everything complete. The first image is the finished product. The bottom image is the original manipulated self portrait that we transferred onto the t-shirt. The original photo was taken using about 5 or 6 mirrors. It’s an incredible image! After we transfer the students self-portrait to the t-shirt they are going back in with paint on the tee. This shirt has black, gray and maroon paint splotches on it. So cool!
Anyway, I had to share. Such talent in my clasroom :).
Some recent artwork . . .

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any artwork. My 8th graders are working on some fun self portraits. They are building their portrait with chipboard and papier mache over a hanger. I asked each student to take a self portrait with a point and shoot camera (some of the photos are incredible!). I bought white t-shirts for everyone in the class. We will take their digital self-portrait, manipulate it in Photoshop and then print it on the t-shirt with an iron-on transfer. Students will also use paint to extend portions of their digital self portrait onto their t-shirt. Their “heads” with wear the t-shirt (on the hanger). These are just a few in progress. Students are just beginning the Photoshop portion of the assignment. I should have some finished products within the next week or two. I’ll be sure and post some.
Saying goodbye to a “wittle” friend . . .

Yesterday, we found Geo “Cuty” Speelman (Isaac’s hermit crab from Fort Walton Beach) had passed away in his cage. Isaac took the news pretty hard. He cried quite a bit and then came upstairs to ask me for some paper. He said it might make him feel better if he could draw some pictures of Cuty to remember him better. Truitt and Owen made Cuty memorials too. The boys hung them all over the house. When they were all done Isaac had stopped crying and said, “I think I feel better now. I know Cuty is happy with God. I think I’d like to watch TV now.”
Here’s a picture of Cuty the way we’ll remember him . . . click here.
Abigail Kathryn

I had the sweetest pleasure of photographing a good friend and co-workers newborn today. This is Abby. She is just beautiful.
Jersey is TWO!

Happy Birthday Jersey girl! We had a fun-filled CRAZY time at Chuck E. Cheese. That place wears me out!
One more Owen . . .

Owen loves climbing up the couch and standing in the front window, especially now that there are so many tree limbs in our front yard. He’s been up there a lot these past few days saying, “What ‘appened?”.
Owen’s Valentines

Another day off from school today. Yea! Owen finally worked on his valentines. The big boys did go to school today, but they are off tomorrow (conferences). Today was their Valentine’s parties. I think I could handle teaching only Monday’s and Friday’s
.
