Memorial Day

Memorial Day.jpg

As you can imagine, today was very exciting for Owen.  Flags everywhere!  Nancy bought each of the boys and Old Navy flag t-shirt.  Since Owen insists on wearing his often it was dirty today.  He was pretty upset when his brothers had on flag shirts and he didn’t.  However, dad came to the rescue- Joe dug out an Old Navy flag shirt circa 2003.  Owen was so happy!  At the parade he pointed out every single flag that went by and held his up high.  The big boys gathered up all kinds of candy and shared with their little brother.

Crazy boys!

Today I went to my my very good friend’s (and former neighbor’s) house to take some pics of Nico, Brooks and their cousin, Ethan.  Holy cow, it was craziness (I can say that because Kelly knows it too:))!  That first photo of Nico just about sums it up.  Amazingly, I think a grabbed a few nice shots of all of them- just not together!  I posted a few of the outtakes as well as a few of the sweet ones.  I need to go back another time and take some nice calm newborn shots of Brooks- today just wasn’t the day for that.

Owen’s Haircut

Owen went down to the basement with Joe last night and when he came back upstairs- this is what he looked like.  I can’t say that I was too happy about it either.  I love those curls.  I know they were getting a little unruly, but this is a bit extreme for me.  My shock was pretty apparent.  Truitt finally said to me, “Mom, you’re making Owen sad.  Stop talking about his haircut!”.  (By the way, Owen really could have cared less :))

Lacrosse

Last night we went to Devin’s tournament game along with the Tucker’s- Moeller v. Lakota West.  Devin is senior at Moeller this year.  He *walked* last Thursday.  The Moeller Lacrosse team is still charging forward.  They beat Lakota last night 9 to 8.  Today they play their rival St. X at noon today.  We’re heading to that game as well.    Everytime Nancy cheered Owen raised his arms in touchdown fashion.  It was pretty cute.  I’m sure many of you are wondering what the heck happened to Owen’s hair- more on that later today.

These pics were taken with my little point and shoot.  I’m trying to carry it around more.  The photographer in me has a big problem with the quality of the photos, but the mom in me knows there are some moments that are just worth capturing no matter what I’m shooting with.  Only four days of school left (well five if you count Teacher records Day).  A-post-a-day will begin Tuesday, June 5th!  Stay tuned!

I love finding things like this . . .

True Star Wars.jpg

I found this great drawing in Truitt’s backpack.  If you have sons you will probably recognize some of these little images- R2-D2, light sabers, AT-AT’s.  Yep, it’s Star Wars.  I always save these drawings in special folder.  I love looking at them and I know the boys will too when they get older.

Ava

This is Ava.  I had the pleasure of meeting her family today.  Not only is she adorable, but she’s a great little model too.  It was so fun to get her all “pinked-out”.  There’s not much pink around this house.  I can’t forget Rosco (the dog)- he was pretty darn adorable himself!  Thanks for having me Chris and Kim!

Silly Cuties!

We met Owen’s buddies, Anna and Jack, at Newport on the Levee.  They ran around like crazy with Isaac and Truitt!  Jack and Owen even did a little dancing.  A took a few pics of them, but I fell in love with this one!

Waiting on Ben

Joe and I took the boys to Newport on the Levee tonight to hear “Waiting on Ben”.  My co-worker and recent bus-mate (on the Chicago trip), Paul Alexander is in a band with his son Ben.  They play original music written by Ben Alexander and Jude Hayden (another band member) as well as some great covers.  They were incredible!  It was a beautiful evening.  The sun was setting with the city in the distance.  It was a little bit challenging to photograph, but I was able to get some nice backlit shots.

Lots-o-baseball!

Ike True bball.jpg

Let’s see, I was at the baseball field for 5.5 hours today!  Whew!  Truitt had his first game at 10am.  He hit his very first pitch!  I wasn’t expecting him to have a hit so quickly.  I was still fiddling with the settings on my camera and missed it!  Unfortunately, that was his only hit.  As soon as his game ended Isaac had his team pictures at the same field.  We realized that both boys are #9.  Isaac stayed to practice for his 1:00 game.  I ran home and grabbed a bite to eat.  I decided to leave my camera at home.  Wouldn’t you know, Isaac pitched for the first time!  He even threw two runners out at first!  AND, he was the catcher for the remainder of the game.  I forgot to mention he had a great base hit.  The game was tied and went into extra innings.  The other team scored five runs and ended up winning.  It was still a great game.  Isaac looked great!  Too bad his mom left the camera at home :(.

Blast from the past . . .

Blast from the past.jpg

Guess who these cuties are?  Isaac and Truitt!  I came across these old Mavica pics on cd today.  Talk about old school digital- I think that camera was like 1.2 megapixels!  Anyway, since I’ve been such a bad blogger I thought I’d share.
