B’s new bike!

bike.jpg

One of my favorite things about Chicago is that it is completely flat and therefore very bike-friendly. One of my least favorite things is that some of the residents are a little too bike-friendly and someone stole mine about a month ago. This weekend I finally picked out a new one and Phil and I took it for a spin along Lake Michigan. I love it! Here are some pics Phil took with the skyline behind me.

Campingpalooza 2007

logo.jpg

Here it is!  The official 2007 Campingpalooza logo!  Every year my sister designs a logo for our trip and every year she out-does herself.  Isn’t it awesome!  I worked all day yesterday printing up the shirts, Joe’s dragging camping supplies out of storage, the house is turned upsidedown- it must be campin’ time!  Just to let you all know I won’t be leaving you high and dry here at frecklephoto, my sister has agreed to take over “a-post-a-day”.  She said she already has some great ideas (leave some good comments for her ;)).  I happen to know that my brother and his wife, Lori, will be finding out if they are having a boy or a girl this week- exciting stuff!  I’m sure that news will be posted here.  Stay tuned!  Of course when I get back I ‘ll post lots of camping pics.  Off to finish loading up the van!

Crocs

IMG_4624.jpg

Well, I’ve to terms with the fact that I’ll probably never get buy those cute little sundresses I see at the Gap.  So I decided to buy Owen some cute little Crocs instead.  How did I get Joe sign off on these $24 toddler shoes (well, first of all I didn’t ask him)?  When he inquired about the price I said, “LOOK, I got Owen a little Browns helmet to put on his Crocs!”  Mom’s are the masters of re-direction ;).  By the way, Owen LOVES his Crocs- just don’t ask him about them.  He gets the “cr” sound mixed up with the “f” sound.  You may be offended :).

Pool Party!

Pool Party.jpg

One of my good friends and co-workers had a pool party today.  She’s a healthy 8 months pregnant so you can’t miss her up there (doesn’t she look awesome!!)!  It was such a beautiful day to get together!  The kids had a blast.  Owen was so happy to see Jack and his other buddies from Kim’s house (btw Kim, Owen asked about you!).  It was great to catch up with my school friends too.  Thanks so much for having us Dana!  We all had such a great time!  I’ll send photos via Snapfish asap!

Nia & Lily

Nia Lily.jpg

More cute girlies!  Actually, we’ve been having a tough time making this session *happen*.  Today was our rain date due to storms last week.  Wouldn’t you know it, I get less than a mile away from the house and it’s pouring down rain!  By the time I made my way through the front door it was just drizzling.  We tried to make the best of it, but everything was soaking wet and dark from the storm clouds.  I managed to grab a few quick shots of the girls (and some blurry family shots due to low light).  We’ve re-scheduled for another (hopefully sunny) day.  Just think, you all get to see these cuties again!  Seriously, how beautiful are Lily’s eyes in that first shot?  And Nia was so darn adorable.  I love that crazy face!  I’m looking forward to seeing these girls again :).

Storyboards

Storyboards.jpg

Alright, this feels a little bit like a commercial interruption and I apologize for that :).  I’ve had a lot of people inquire about the storyboards listed on my business page so I thought I would post a few recent examples.  Basically the storyboard is a 10×20″ print that is mounted on double weight matboard.  The white space is actually a part of the photographic print so there is no need to mat the image.  In the above images the black border represents the frame and everything inside is the print.  The nice thing is that these prints fit into a standard 10×20″ frame.  These frames usually come with a pre-cut mat for four 4×6″ prints.  You just take the pre-cut mat out and slip in the storyboard.  I usually design two to four storyboards and present them along with the rest of the images.  As you can see above, I can also incude text (said in my best Vanna White voice- oh, that’s right, she never actually spoke on Wheel of Fortune).  Anyway, sorry for the shameless plug!

Ashley & Alex

Zemberi.jpg

How incredibly cute are these two sisters?  Little Ashley is six months old and Alex is two.  Those big ‘ole eyes of Ashley’s are just breathtaking.  She loved looking at the camera.  Alex wasn’t quite as interested in having her picture taken, but she made some fabulous tea!  I was lucky enough to have a few cups and snuck in a few shots between sips.  She was so adorable!  Thanks for the tea Alex!  It was delicious.

My Cute *Wittle* Truitt

Truitt.jpg

I took this at Truitt’s baseball game this morning.  Joe stayed home with Isaac and Owen so I had the chance to sit back and really watch his game.  Truitt was more interested in his teamates little brothers and sisters than baseball.  He loves little kids (including his brother Owen).  Baseball is probably not going to be his *thing*, but that’s o.k. with me.  At the game I started thinking that someday soon he will be able to say his “l’s” and “r’s”.  I just love the way Truitt talks.  I’ve heard the same thing from other adults as well.  In fact his kindergarten teacher even mentioned how much she loves the way he talks even though she knows he needs to work on those l’s” and “r’s”.  I just love that kid to pieces.

St. Vincent Festival

St V Festival.jpg

It’s a late post tonight.  We just got home from the festival.  The big boys saw lots of school friends and rode a couple rides.  I’ll be working up there tomorrow night and I’m sure Joe will bring the kids up again.  I only took a few pics, but I knew I needed to get something posted tonight :).

Halloween in June???

Halloween in July.jpg

Believe it or not these photos were taken last night.  Doesn’t it look like Fall?!  My sister called me and said she needed some images for the October issue of her magazine.  So I dressed Owen up in his little bear costume, found a fall-looking tree and shot away.  People going by looked at us like we were nuts!  Owen was happy to pose for me- after all he got a sucker out of the deal!
