Aunt B

Aunt B.jpg

Aunt B and Phil drove in from Chicago this past weekend for a friends bridal shower.  I don’t get to see B or my brother (Uncle Mikie) as much as I would like.  Now that we are grown up we are spread all over.  The boys loved having Aunt B here even though it was a short visit.  B got in after midnight on Friday night.  Joe volunteered to sleep on the couch so B could bunk with me.  Poor little Owen trotted upstairs on Saturday morning.  Out of the corner of my eye I could see him standing on his tippy toes trying to see who was in his daddy’s spot.  When B rolled over and said hello to him he ran screaming into the other room and buried his head in his blankie.  He would not even make eye contact with her for at least an hour!  I think he was totally traumatized.  He finally got over it and ran around like his normal crazy self.

A little more Lola . . .

Lola 2.jpg

I stopped over to take a few more pics of Lola today.  I had the whole crew with me so we didn’t stay very long.  She is the tiniest and sweetest little baby.  When Truitt saw her he said, “Oh man!”.  He couldn’t believe how little she was.  Grant and Bryce aren’t quite sold on this new little sister yet (as you can see from their photo).  They ‘ll come around :) .  Once Lola starts fitting into some of her cute new clothes I’m sure you will be seeing her again.

Cate & Alex

D family.jpg

Meet Andy, Andrea, Cate & Alex.  Last evening I met this wonderful family at Ault Park.  Check out those blonde curls! Cate is so incredibly adorable.  She was also one of the most cooperative models I’ve ever had.  Little Alex is almost four months old.  He has the most stunning blue eyes!  This family had such a great dynamic.  I can tell they must have a lot of fun together:).

Julie’s photos . . .

Julies pics.jpg

Here are some of the pictures Julie took at Caesar Creek (she took all of them except the one of herself :)).  It’s so fun to my kids through another photographers eyes.  Julie is phenomenally creative with the camera.  This girl can find a quirky colored wall anywhere she goes!  I just love her work.  It’s been great to bounce ideas off one another.

New Friends

The boys and I drove up to Caesar Creek State Park today to meet my friend Julie and her three kids.  Julie and I have been members of the same two photography forums for a little over a year now.  We became friends through the forums.  It’s so nice to have someone to talk photography with (there’s not a lot of people who will entertain my obsessive need to talk about photos!).  We have found that we have so much in common.  My boys totally hit it off with her three kids.  They are such sweeties!  They played in the lake for almost four hours!  We all had such a blast!

Lola

Meet Lola.  What a little sweetheart :).  My friend and co-worker, Dana, gave birth to this little sweetie on Sunday.  I snuck out of the house tonight to go see her at the hospital.  She decided to come about four weeks early and she’s doing great!  You may remember Dana’s family photos from last summer (click here).  Her boys are with the same wonderful sitter as mine.  You may also remember that just a few weeks ago Dana had a pool party with little Lola hanging out in front of her (click here).  You will probably see alot more of this little cutie in the weeks to come.

Reese

Meet Reese.  She’s the sweet little one-year-old I photographed last night.  She has the most beautiful blue eyes.  About half way through our session Reese had enough of her cute little daisy dress.  You gotta love a naked little baby!  Reese’s family was awesome- both sets of Grandparents came out for the session.  The whole family was a huge help- from blowing bubbles and making Reese laugh to helping me remember where I sat my stuff down.

My little model.

Owen the model.jpg

I have three sessions at Ault Park this week so Owen and I headed there to scout out some locations.  I brought my camera along just to check out some lighting situations, but I hadn’t planned on taking any *real* photos.  Owen had a blast running all over the place at the park.  Our last stop was the playground.  He remembered that I took pics of he and his brothers down by this brick wall.  He ran right over to it and said, “Picture mom!  Picture!”  He put on his famous “happy” face and I couldn’t help but snap a few.  He’s so darn cute!

IHM Festival!

IHM festival.jpg

On Sunday evening the boys and I headed to the IHM festival in Anderson.  My sister-in-law and friend, Kris, teaches there and her boys go to school at IHM too.  I bought bracelets for the boys so they could ride all the rides they could from 3 to 5 with their cousins.  We all had such a blast!  There were long lines for everything, but no one seemed to mind.  The big boys went off on their own.  At one point Truitt, Jack and his friend whizzed by us with spray painted hair and a giant pink alien.  We topped the day off with some huge ice cream cones- YUM!
