Today is the very last day of 2007! I wanted to put together a little slideshow of photos from the past year. I had such a tough time narrowing the images down to a reasonable number. Click the image above or click here to see the show! Don’t forget to click play (little triangle in the bottom left corner) once the web page comes up. You may need to click it twice- oh, and turn up your volume! Have a WONDERFUL 2008 everyone!

Coming soon . . . Adam

I know there are some people eagerly awaiting photos of this little peanut, Kim and Dale’s *FIRST* grandchild. Adam was born on December 26th (what an incredible Christmas gift!). I’m still working on the photos, but I thought I’d post a quick sneek peek. This is three-day-old Adam. Isn’t he ADORABLE!
Christmas Cookies

One of my favorite family traditions is frosting the Christmas cut-out cookies. The boys love it too (for about five minutes, then they want to eat them). Owen frosted for the first time this year. We got him all set up with his plate and frosting knife, but when we handed him the unfrosted cookie he immediately ate it. He did end up frosting one cookie, but ate that one as well. You may notice in the group shot the empty container of sprinkles beside Owen and the masses of them on his plate.
Alex

Meet Alex. He’s the son and grandson of some long time family friends in Shelby. I practically grew up with Andy (Alex’s dad) and Brian (uncle), not to mention Bob and Sue (grandparents) who have always been just like family to us. We set up shop right in the middle of my mom’s living room for our impromptu photo session. I was so excited to meet little Alex who is three months old now. He and his family trekked across the US all the way from Arizona to be in Shelby for Christmas. They are blessed that Alex is such a happy baby. I know that made for a much more enjoyable car ride!
Browns/Bengals Tailgate

It is a tradition in our neighborhood to tailgate in our driveway when the Browns travel to Cinci to play the Bengals. Unfortunately, it is also a tradition that the Browns lose :(. Sadly, this year was no exception. I only have a few pics from the tailgate because I had to pack up the boys and head to Shelby right in the middle of the game, but aside from the disappointment I think everyone had a great time (especially the Bengals fans). Joe and Dave kicked off the tailgate early and played Madden outside (Browns vs. Browns of course) then our former neighbors the Ghloz’s (check out cute little Brooks with Isaac) and the Leesemasnn’s arrived. All of the Mitchell’s came out to support their Bengals and Sandy proudly cheered on the Browns right alongside Joe. Hey, there’s always next year.

Just to hold you over . . .

. . . until I can get through all of my Christmas pics. I just loved this photo of Ivan and Santa taken Christmas Eve. We are so very lucky that Santa takes time out of his busy schedule to visit us each year before his BIG night. I just cracked open my memory card and I have 905 images to sift through. That includes our Browns tailgating pics as well as two sessions with some crazy-CUTE babies. So, keep checking back and I should have some new posts soon! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did!
Monkeys!

If you are getting tired of me gloating about how incredible my sitter is . . . well, tough :). Each year Kim makes all of her “kids” something truly remarkable for Christmas. This year is no exception. Check out these ADORABLE monkey pillows! Every single one is handmade by Kim- she doesn’t even have any elves to help (well, maybe Dale- but I’m not sure how good he is with a needle and thread). I can’t even find words to express how blessed we are to have her in our lives. THANK YOU for EVERYTHING you do Kim! We love you!
Need a last minute gift?

If you are out and about shopping tonight the Capture Cincinnati winners (including me) will be at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Rookwood Plaza signing books one last time from 7-9pm. Stop by and see me!
eta: The band “Ellery” will be performing as well. Should be FUN!
Tree Farm!

Well, we almost caved this year. Many of you know that Joe and I have cut down our own Christmas tree at a tree farm since before we were even married. This year, not only was Joe traveling for work the last three weeks, but it also rained every single weekend. We were actually talking about buying a pre-cut tree. Luckily, we came to our senses this morning and decided to go for it! We always go to the Corsi Family tree farm out in Bethel. It’s a bit of a haul for us, but we’ve always had great luck there. Today ended up being (almost) perfect. It was snowing (not raining), but pretty darn muddy. We had a such a good time, the mud didn’t bother us one bit. This is one of my favorite family traditions. I know the boys love it too. Now we just need to get that tree into our living room :).
