It’s been a busy weekend. I decided to take a little time out from all my duties and edit a few more vacation pics. These were taken the day after tropical storm Claudette visited us. There were great waves, but some menacing skies. I love the pics of my three boys hanging out together in the ocean
. I also wanted to mention that all of these images were taken with my p+s.

Over the moon . . .
I saw THIS embroidered note on Flickr and I knew I had to have one. When I checked out katiecupcake’s blog it said she was only taking orders for a few days. We were slated to leave for camping the very next day. I thought and thought about what I wanted my note to say and this is what I came up with. I wanted it to say something very personal about my family. All of the things listed are special to us. I absolutely *LOVE* it!!! HERE is a link to “a dash of magic” (katie’s Etsy store). I’m not sure if she is still offering the embroidered notes, but if she is I’d highly recommend ordering one. The possibilities are endless!
One day down . . .
Unexpected tears . . .
Today was Owen’s first day of pre-school. I really thought I was completely ready for the moment I dropped him off in his homeroom. To my surprise, I wasn’t. I don’t think Owen was either. He didn’t actually cry when I left, but the look in his eye was not one of comfort. His buddy Jack had not arrived at school yet. I spoke with Jodi later that morning and she said that when they arrived it seemed that Owen had been crying, but one look at Jack and he was just fine. I’m so very glad they have one another. I also had to take Lucy to be put down today. Again, I thought I was totally ready for this. She is nineteen years old and looks pretty worse for the wear. However, once I took her through the doors I just couldn’t hold back the tears. She’s been such a good companion to all of us. We miss you Lucy

Home!
Ahhhh, we’re home. It’s bittersweet. I sure do miss waking up and having coffee on the patio while looking out at the ocean. My only worries were making sure the kids had enough sunscreen slathered on them each day. While we were gone we had some work done to the house. The kids bedrooms had to be cleared and the kitchen too. They still have a lot of work to do
. I was reeeeally hoping they would be done. Our house is turned upside-down. Owen starts pre-school tomorrow- again, a bittersweet moment. He’ll be with his buddy Jack. I’m so glad they will be together. My first day of school is Tuesday and the big boys start Wednesday. Elle will go to Kim’s starting Tuesday too. There will be some BIG changes in the Speelman household this week! The photo above is from the hotel in Pratville, Alabama. It was taken on our trip down south. We drove home straight through yesterday. The drive went pretty fast, however, Elle slept a total of about 25 minutes and cried at least four hours of the trip. The big boys didn’t sleep a wink- if you know our family this is very typical. Well, I have LOTS to do today. Tomorrow will be the last of a-post-a-day summer. I’m so proud of myself- I didn’t miss a day. Of course I’ll still be posting regularly- just not every day. I still have a TON of photos to edit from the summer. See you tomorrow

On our way home . . .
Well, our vacation is officially over
. We are on the road home as you read this. I took this photo in our condo living room mirror (that’s why everything is backwards). The quality of the image looked pretty terrible on my laptop- hopefully it is better than I think. I just love it because all of my sweeties are in it.
