Owen has become quite the artist. His favorites subjects . . . flags (of course), pirate ships and pirates. He sits at the kitchen table and draws almost every night- usually on pads of paper or anything else he finds laying around. A while back he drew two flags in Sharpie marker on his floor- yikes! He also “scratched” an entire pirate ship complete with “bones” flags onto the dry skin on his leg (I guess when there are no art materials available you make due- he’s so his mother’s child
).

I *love* Owen’s drawings
The last of the Chicago pics {the fun ones!}
Our last night in Chicago we stayed in a five star hotel (can’t you see how classy we are) courtesy of B! It was so much fun! The bathroom was SO cool . . . check out that wallpaper! It is a tradition for B and I to jump on the hotel bed, so of course we had to coax mom to do it too. I was a little concerned about her :). But she ended up having very good form (hee hee). My boys love Domo and he was on billboards everywhere- so of course I had to get a pic taken with him. We had such an INCREDIBLE trip! Can’t wait to do it again!!!
My girl . . .
Silhouette *fun* at French Park
Truitt, Owen, Elle and I stopped at French Park tonight after dropping Isaac off at a friend’s house for a sleepover. Poor Truitt gets so sad when his brother (and very best friend) goes away for the evening. I knew the park would be fun for everyone (including me). It was such a gorgeous evening. French Park is high up on a hill so the sunsets are always gorgeous. We swang on the swings, climbed a tree and jumped in the sunset. On our way home I asked the boys what they wanted for dinner and they said cereal and popcorn so that’s exactly what we had.
Another *adorable* Kinasewitz
Julie’s pics . . .
I still need to finish editing our family pics, but Julie posted the ones I took of her family . . . http://julieranee.com/theblog/ I love the series posted above. Julie brought this awesome cart with her to our session. I have some pics of my family in it as well! Stay tuned!
Seeing the sights . . .
After a yummy brunch at Milk and Honey we headed downtown to Millennium Park. Most of these pics were taken there. We started the day with umbrellas, but the skies cleared up and we ended up having a beautiful day! Tonight we had dinner with B’s good friend Cheri at Cafe Iberico, a tapa’s restaurant. It was SO yummy! We polished off two pitchers of Sangria and five tapa’s. Tomorrow we’ll be doing some shopping on Michigan Avenue. We will also be staying at a hotel downtown so no more blog updates until I get home
.
Chica-go-go-go!
We’re HERE! Our flight had a slight delay, but then we boarded the plane and arrived in Chicago without a hitch. After dropping our bags off at B’s *adorable* apartment we headed to Pequod’s for some deeeeelicious Chicago pizza and a cold beer. It was SO yummy! After that, we saw the premier of the “The Family Show”- a compilation of home videos that B put together on DVD for us. We laughed until we cried. So FUN!!! Today we’re off to brunch (we’re all about the food) and a little sightseeing. I’ll try to post more pics tomorrow morning. My p+s is so fast and easy- no editing! Yay!
*Love* these drawings!
I had to snap a few pics while my 7th graders were working today. I absolutely *love* contour drawing. It really forces my students to draw from their heart. They used one contiuous line to draw their partner as well as the background. Everything in the background is actually in my classroom. These drawings are so whimsical and full of life. Enjoy!
