2009 Collage
I came across THIS free template over the weekend and decided to create a little mosaic of my favorite 2009 images. I’m printing it 12×12″, framing it and hanging it in my living room. I like the idea that you need to get up nice and close to see each little image. I finished today and already ordered the print. Yay! If you are PS saavy (there is a template for PS Elements too) you should consider downloading the template and making your own collage! It was super easy and FUN! It would be fun to do this every year.
p.s. Don’t forget to check in on the 300 miles blog . . . there’s a weird combo up today
It’s here . . . a look back at 2009 slideshow
Click on the photo above or HERE to see the slideshow. Thanks SO much to all of you who check in on frecklephoto on a regular basis. You make it so much fun for me!!! Can’t wait to begin another year of memories. Happy New Year everyone!!!

All better :)
I am happy to report that our family is feeling much better. At least everyone was sick all at once so we could just get it it over with. I took very few pictures over Christmas. In fact, I never even took my camera out of the bag at Joe’s parent’s house- I’m so bummed about that. The busier life gets the tougher it is to document it. I hope to be better in 2010. I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Christmas!!!!
Look for my 2009 slideshow . . . coming soon!
Tree Farm!
One of my all-time favorite family traditions! Knowing that it was supposed to rain all day on Sunday, we packed up all of our winter gear in the back of the van when we went to Truitt’s bowling party. We left immediately after the party, drove an hour to Bethel and changed our clothes in the parking lot. We traipsed around until we found the perfect tree. As we were dragging our tree up the hill to get it packaged up it was almost completely dark. It’s always an adventure in the Speelman family!
Elle is ONE!
Yesterday was Elle’s FIRST birthday party! We packed LOTS of people into our tiny house to celebrate. Elle had a great time. She had a blast toting balloons around the house. It was so nice of everyone in our families to make the trip to Cincinnati to celebrate with us. I took very few pictures, but my mom made up for it. Her pics are posted below. Tomorrow is Elle’s official birthday. We’ll have to stick a candle in a piece of leftover cake :).
So sorry . . .
I can count the photos I took over Thanksgiving on one hand . . . and if you know me that’s unheard of!!!! I have NOTHING to post except two new additions to my mom’s house. Meet Luna (Lovegood) and (Ron) Weasley. I have kind of a funny story to go along with them. My mom intended to take my kids with her to pick out the kittens, but without going into great detail- it didn’t quite work out. Of course we have been telling the boys that Grandma had a big surprise for them (picking out the kittens). They were DYING to know what the surprise was all week. Isaac kept hounding my mom as soon as we got there about the surprise. He finally confessed that he was very worried that the surprise was going to Cedar Point. He was stressing out because he doesn’t like roller coasters. Grandma assured him that we would not be going to Cedar Point. Finally, when the boys came back from Grandma Who’s house (Joe’s mom) we presented the surprise (the kittens). Owen BURST into tears when he saw the kittens. Seriously, the kid was hysterical. I asked him why he was crying and he sobbed, “That was NOT a very special surprise!!!” We were all holding back laughter. Note to self: NEVER announce a surprise ahead of time.
