Last baseball game of the season

Last night was Isaac and Joe’s very last game of the season.  They went all the way to the District finals.  In the first photo you will see the hit that eventually led to the first run scored by Isaac for his team.  Sadly, they did not win last night.  Isaac, who is always the optimist, had no regrets.  He had a blast with his teammates all season.  Plus, Joe was able to help coach the team and I know that meant a lot to Isaac.  We still went out for ice cream after the game too (that always helps to soften a loss).

St. Vincent Festival

Can you find Truitt???

Ahhhh, a day at the pool

The boys have had swimming lessons for the past two weeks.  Today we decided to just stay at the pool after lessons.  This is Elle’s second time at the Blue Ash pool.  She has clearly warmed up to it.  She went down the slide at least 10 times.  She was wandering all over the baby pool, so I finally put water wings on her.  The girl has no fear.  She was in heaven.  Isaac and Truitt kept taking turns watching her go up the stairs to the slide (she really didn’t need help, but I was afriad she might slip on the steps).  Owen was his typical “fishy” self.  He has a blast swimming all over the place.  It was a great summer day!

Happy Flag Day!

You didn’t think he’d forget, did you?  This is one of Owen’s *favorite* places.  He was in heaven running around Blue Ash memorial- even in this heat.  Owen ask me what time the parade would start . . . he was a little miffed that there wasn’t one.

Summer

* This photo was taken with my new phone through our front window :)

Ahhhhhh, summer!  Today is the first official day of summer for me.  It started with swimming lessons and will end with baseball games.  Already this feels like a different kind of summer . . . it will be filled with busy, bustling days and nights.  I still have pictures to post from our visit to my brother’s house on Memorial Day weekend.  This coming weekend is the *HUGE* Speelman family reunion . . . it’s always such a blast.  Since B and I are posting daily on the 300 miles blog I’m not sure I can do the same here, but I promise to post often.  I love having this online family journal . . . thanks for sharing it with me :)

Light Painting with B!

My sister is visiting us for the weekend.  On Friday night she suggested that we head out to the deck in the dark and try out some light painting.  We set our cameras to take long exposures and “painted” with flashlights.  The boys came out to see what we were doing and were super excited to try it out.  Joe even tried it!  Can you find Owen’s pirate ships (he did such a great job!), Isaac’s rocket, my giraffe/llama and Joe’s version of Odie?

NO Training Wheels!

Joe took the trraining wheels off of Owen’s bike this weekend.  I think Joe set an all-time record for teaching someone to ride a two wheeler.  It only took Owen about 45 minutes to master the skill.  He is an AMAZING two-wheeler-rider!  He had a few spills, but he got right up and hopped back on his bike.  Way to fo Owen!

Teeball!

Last weekend was Owen’s very first teeball game of the season.   There is nothing more entertaining than watching these clueless cuties run around the bases backwards, field their own teams ball while standing on third base and yell “Hey mom, look I caught the ball” before throwing it to first base.  Owen did a pretty darn good job, even though he was ready to go home after the first inning.

I was so proud of myself, I made the animated gif above all by myself.  However, the quality of the images is terrible so I may have my smart sister help me fix it.  I was too impatient to wait for her, so check back for an updated version.

Prom . . . the video

Here is just a snippet of the video I took at Owen’s “Prom”.  The kids had such a great time.  Owen and Jack have some serious moves.  How awesome is DJ Lance?!

Pre-school Prom

It’s one of my all-time favorite pre-school events . . . PROM!  Of course it only lasts 20 minutes, but it is still the highlight of my school year.  And who else would Owen be attending prom with . . . Jack of course.  They both had a BLAST!  I spent most of my time video taping with my p+s.  I’ll post video sometime this weekend . . . it’s priceless.  How awesome is DJ Lance?!?!  If you don’t know who DJ Lance is click HERE.  Mr. Richard was absolutely perfect.  FUN!
