Have a question for me ?

My good friend Julie sent me a link to formspring.me a while back.  One of our *favorite* photographers has a page there.  It is a website that allows you to ask someone . . . well, anything you want.  I’ve been following a couple of my fav photogs on formspring and it got me thinking that maybe some of you may have photography or life-related questions for me.  Here is a link to one of my all-time favorite photographers formspring page so you can see how it works . . . www.formspring.me/tarawhitney Here is a link to my page in case you have a question for me . . . www.formspring.me/frecklephoto Feel free to ask me anything.  I’ll try my best to answer in a timely manner (emphasis on the word “try”- we all know how that goes sometimes).

Oh, and I couldn’t post something without a photo or two.  These photos of Owen were taken almost exactly three years ago.  I was looking through some old images and came across these.  I think I see a little resemblance to miss Elle . . . what do you think?

Sledding!

All of the boys went sledding at French Park on our *snow day*.  Elle and I stopped by very briefly to watch them (seriously, like 10 minutes or less).  I snapped a few quick pics . . . I couldn’t feel my fingers after watching just a couple of runs down the hill.  I had Elle strapped to my back to keep her out of the snow so needless to say, these aren’t the best pics.  However, the boys (all four) had a total blast.  In fact, that first pic is Joe flying down the hill- he really looks just like one of the boys!  Joe said he had the hardest time getting the boys to wake up for school Tuesday morning (note to self:  want good sleepers . . . take ‘em sledding!).

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!  I just received the most beautiful flowers from my family as well as the sweetest card ever.  Each of my boys (the BIG one included) wrote me a very heartfelt note that brought tears to my eyes.  I’m such a lucky wife and mom!

A very *special* Valentine

Truitt came home from school yesterday and was so excited to give me my Valentine.  As soon as I read it I knew it came stright from his heart.  Truitt loves to cuddle up on the couch with me.  If you know him, you may know that he gets these little bursts of energy when he’s super happy.  He puts his hands up by his face and shivers.  Well, when we cuddle on the couch he always does his little shiver, then inhales deeply and says, “Mom, I love the way you smell”.  It’s the sweetest darn thing EVER!  Anyway, you can see why I loved that poem so much.

Thanks True!  I *love* you too!

Another *snow* day . . . YAY!

Today we actually bundled up and played in the snow!  The boys helped Joe shovel the driveway too.  Elle was only out briefly.  She was not a big fan of the snow (or the cold).  Bodie (Nancy’s dog) was with us for a little while too- don’t you just love his boots!

*snow***day**

Yay . . . a snow day!  The kids painted today . . . FUN!

Big Brother

Elle loves all of her big brothers so much.  She wants to do everything that they are doing.  I have a feeling that will get her into some trouble in the future :) .

***Snow Day***

Yay!  What a nice surprise today.  We even found out early enough so that we could even sleep in a bit.  This is Owen making a snow angel on the driveway.  I know it’s been “The Owen Show” lately, but he is just so darn easy to photograph.  I’ll make a better effort to post some snaps of the rest of my kids.

Tomorrow my sister and I will be announcing a fun little project we’re working on.  You’ll like it!!!

The Ship

For those of you who wanted to see the ship Owen was “building” while I was posting the last set of images, here it is!  I’m just so glad he’s making good use of the 500 frecklephoto Academy pens I had printed (he later used the pens to represent pirates on the ship).

What do you do with a scurvy pirate?

Owen is in full costume about 99% of the time he is home.  His favorite characters to dress up as are Jack Sparrow, Anakin Skywalker and Dresselmeyer (a character who wears an eye patch from The Nutcracker).  Of the three, dressing up as a pirate is his all-time favorite.  Right this very minute he is constructing a giant pirate ship on the floor beside me made with pillows, wrapping paper tubes, a golf club, blankets, scotch tape and of course a Jolly Roger flag.  Owen has to be one of the most creative kids I’ve ever encountered.  The eye patch he’s wearing above is one of his own creations made with scotch tape, rubber bands and paper scraps.  He asked me to take the “action” photos and had to view each one in order to made small adjustments to his pose.  I love that kid.
