Owen and Olivia

I spied these two sitting next to the sidewalk drawing pictures.  I had to grab my camera and snap a few quick shots.  Olivia lives two doors down.  She has a little brother named Owen too.  My Owen sneaks over to her house all the time to play.   They are so cute together.  Owen was teaching Olivia to draw flags (of course).

Our little Courtney is all grown up!

When we moved to this house Courtney was about five years old.  She looked across the street, saw our big dog and asked her parents if she could come over and ride the pony.  It’s hard to believe she is old enough to go to a high school dance.  She looked absolutely stunning tonight!

Frankenstein and Abe

I’d like to introduce you to two of our newest neighbors- Frankenstein and Abraham.  Aren’t they adorable?!  Frankenstein (b+w doggie) is actually smaller than Abe.  He’s jumping up at me in this pic so he looks deceivingly big.  Truitt and Owen were having a great time walking the dogs- actually the dogs were walking them even though they are just little bitty things.

Baby Macy :)

Nancy’s newest neice. . . isn’t she sweet!  I got a little “baby fever” holding her tonight at the hospital.  I’m sure you’ll see more of little miss Macy in the weeks to come.

The Browns make us proud!

We have tailgated in our driveway with our neighbors for the last five years every time the Browns travel to Cincy to take on the Bengals.  This is the first year we’ve celebrated a WIN!  Our tailgate started nice and early today with delicious breakfast food.  We broke out sloppy joes and the rest of the lunch fare around noon.  I’m typing this at about 8pm and we still have a few die hards out on the driveway watching football.  I didn’t take that many pics today.  It’s a tradition to photograph Owen and his good buddy Nico in their Browns and Bengals jerseys.  The boys hung out in the backyard and played in the dirt- they may have even eaten the dirt (note Nico’s mouth).  They had a blast together.  I have a feeling they will both sleep very well tonight.  Come to think of it- I think I will too.

Thanks Mitchells!

Mitchells.jpg

I wanted to say a quick thank you to the Mitchells for letting us invade their Fort Walton trip each year :).  This is our fourth trip to the beach with them.  It makes the trip so much more fun with them around- not to mention my boys (especially Owen) loooove to hang out at their condo (and ransack their snack cupboard).  Devin taught Owen a new song (”I Love Rock ‘n Roll” by Joan Jett) which he sings around 25 times a day.  Of course Devin’s payback was that Owen woke him up everyday with a squeeky dolphin.  Nancy, Tim and Devin also absorbed my boys into their family while Joe and I were at the hospital.  The boys never missed a beat, in fact when Nancy explained to Isaac that I had to go to the hospital he said, “Oh, can we go to the pool now?”.  Anyway, thanks Mitchells!  Next year you’re going to have to keep one or two of my kids all week- we will have officially outgrown our condo!

An Eventful Day . . .

Day One.jpg

These photos are actually from yesterday when we first arrived.  The boys bolted right into the ocean and started looking for sea critters.  Today’s ocean visit was cut short for me.  I had a liitle epsiode (I passed out) and had to be taken to the hospital.  Once I came around I was a little embarrassed of the spectacle I had created.  I spent about six hours in the ER today getting fluids and some medicine.  The baby and I are both fine.  I just need to take it easy.  I was pretty bummed that I missed a beautiful day at the beach.  Hopefully is will be smooth sailing for the rest of the week.

Owen’s Baptism

Baptism.jpg

You are probably thinking, “Isn’t Owen three years old?” and you would be right.  We have had his baptism scheduled twice and have had to cancel.  Then it became one of those things that just got lost in the shuffle.  So, I am proud to say that we finally got that boy baptized.  Our good friends and neighbors, Tim and Nancy Mitchell, were Owen’s Godparents- which worked out perfectly because he thinks he lives with them anyway.  As much guilt as I have felt about this baptism getting away from us, it really ended up working out well.  Owen was so excited about being baptized.  We were able to talk to him about it which was really nice.  He kept saying, “I’m gonna be baf-tized!”  He just beamed throughout the entire ceremony.  Oh, and at the end when we asked him to pose for pictures he insisted on getting one of him and the flag :).

Spring must be here

fire pit.jpg

We broke out the firepit last night.  That’s a true sign of Spring for us.  I love hanging out with the neighbors, watching the sparks fly and smelling the wood burn.  I can’t think of a better way to spend a Friday night.

Browns/Bengals Tailgate

Browns tailgate.jpg

It is a tradition in our neighborhood to tailgate in our driveway when the Browns travel to Cinci to play the Bengals.  Unfortunately, it is also a tradition that the Browns lose :(.  Sadly, this year was no exception.  I only have a few pics from the tailgate because I had to pack up the boys and head to Shelby right in the middle of the game, but aside from the disappointment I think everyone had a great time (especially the Bengals fans).  Joe and Dave kicked off the tailgate early and played Madden outside (Browns vs. Browns of course) then our former neighbors the Ghloz’s (check out cute little Brooks with Isaac) and the Leesemasnn’s arrived.  All of the Mitchell’s came out to support their Bengals and Sandy proudly cheered on the Browns right alongside Joe.  Hey, there’s always next year.
