On Saturday night I went to Arnold’s with Andrea and her friend Ashleigh for the monthly photography exhibit by Club Blatz members. After the show a few of us ventured into the city for some night shots (which is a little different for me). I didn’t have a tripod so I just looked for places to steady my camera or I just stood very still. It was so much fun! I posted the photo of the VW bus on Flickr yesterday and it ended up in “Explore” . . . I’m not sure I’ve ever had a pic in explore. The second photo is of Bill and Lisa who founded “Club Blatz”, a photography club for misfits. They have done a great job of getting people together. I really look forward to the monthly exhibits and chatting with photography geeks like me :).

Night photos . . .
Bicycle Days
Campingpalooza is almost over! So one last guest post, this one checking in on Mike and family.
Baby Everett got to experience his first Shelby Bicycle Days Parade yesterday. As you can see from these pictures his Grandma took, he was not too impressed. It doesn’t actually look like Ivan was having the time of his life either! But I’m sure I good time was had by all!
Campingpalooza!
It’s official . . . today is the very first day of Speelman CAMPINGPALOOZA!!! We’ll be camping for a good solid week, but don’t fear- B will still be posting to frecklephoto so be sure to check in! I’ll still be posting photos on 300miles via cell phone. It will be a new challenge for me to get decent pics on my phone. Of course I hope to have lots of camping pics when I return!

A fisheye view out the window . . .
This photo was taken with my new fisheye lens out of our van window on I-71. This weekend was the BIG Speelman family reunion at Mohican State Park. I didn’t end up taking as many pics as I would have liked (I spent most of my time chasing Elle who seemed to be in a full sprint the entire weekend), but I do have some photos to share very soon.
Prom . . . the video
Here is just a snippet of the video I took at Owen’s “Prom”. The kids had such a great time. Owen and Jack have some serious moves. How awesome is DJ Lance?!
Vivian
Last weekend I visited five-day-old Vivian. How adorable is this little peanut?! And, how adorable is her bedroom?! Vivian’s mom is an Art teacher just like me. I couldn’t get over how cute that room was, not to mention the rest of the house. Vivi was wide-eyed most of the session, but at the very end those eyelids got heavy. Luckily we ended the session with photos in the crib. Looks like she was having a sweet dream in that last photo

Looking for something to do next Saturday?
Joe and I will be hanging out at Arnold’s downtown along with five other photographers (including my talented friend Andrea). We’ll be showing some photographs and sampling some of Arnold’s fine beverages. Should be a fun, laid back evening. I’d love to see some familiar faces stop by. The show is next Saturday, April 17th upstairs at Arnold’s Bar & Grill. Hope you can make it!

SURPRISE!
It’s nearly impossible to pull one over on my husband, but I think I did a pretty good job of planning a surprise 40th birthday get together. Joe thought we were just going out to dinner with the Mitchells, but when we followed our server to the table Joe found many of his good friends and family waiting for him in Bravo’s party room. Now, please don’t be offended if you weren’t invited to this affair - it’s nothing personal I promise. I only had a small space to work with so I stuck to local folks only (Brian and Mark stopped in on their way to Myrtle Beach). I think Joe was pretty surprised. It was the perfect little dinner party. Thanks so much to everyone who came! I had so much fun chatting that I took very few photos. We need to do this more often!
