Chicago!

My mom and I took the Megabus to Chicago this weekend to visit my sister.  We had SO much fun!!!  I am totally exhausted, but I had to look at my pictures before I hit the pillow tonight.  We went to the Skydeck in Sears Tower (SO cool!).  The first step out onto that plexiglass was a little unnerving, but once I did it I was fine (Mom and B took a bit more warming up).  I read about Vivian Maier’s story a couple weeks ago and heard her first American show would be at the Chicago Cultural Center.  Her photographs were just as amazing as her story- such an incredible show!  If you don’t know who she is (and I’m sure most people don’t since she was just “discovered”), check out her story HERE.  We ice skated at Milennium Park which is always a blast and we ate a whole lot of delicious food.  We also met up with my friend and former student Liz for lunch and shopping (she talked me into buying THIS for Elle- we only adopted one little blonde girl).

Jani - Love the view of the city but there is no way I could have kept the camera from shaking long enough to take a photo. Looks like everyone had a great time.

alicia - I just upgraded to the 50D when my 20D kicked the bucket. I am on a photo journey and am trying to venture past the auto mode more. Any direction or tips you could lend would be fabulous. These pics in Chicago are fabulous. What lens did you use for this effect?

Dana Darbyshire - I love the jumping shots. People must have thought the paparazzi was in town with the three of you and your cameras. I recognize those boots. 🙂 So glad you were able to have a weekend making memories with B and your mom.
