Ivan’s Quilt

Ivans quilt.jpg

As some of you may already know, my sister is a self-taught quilter.  She has such a cool, funky style of quilting.  I just love it.  Anyway, she made all three of my boys a special quilt when they were born and now it’s Ivan’s turn.  He received his quilt over Thanksgiving.  Each image on the quilt holds a special meaning for Ivan and his family.  Can you guess what each picture stands for?  I’ll post the answers below.

1.  Lady bug= Lori (it has a special meaning for her family) 2.  Moose= Mike (My brother was known as “Moose-man” for much of his life)  3.  Tree= Our family tree  4.  The Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria= Columbus, Ohio (Ivan’s hometown)  5.  Pilgrim Hat= Thanksgiving  6.  Ohio= That’s pretty obvious 🙂  7.  Football= His love for Ohio State Football which I’m quite sure he was born with (not to mention the OSU v. Michigan game which was the first football game he ever watched)  8.  Bee= Aunt B who made him this incredible quilt!
