Joe Speelman Photography

Owen sleeping.jpg

Yep, this is a Joe Speelman original.  I was grocery shopping on Sunday and got a call from Joe.  He said, “You’re not going to believe what your son is doing.”  I said, “Which one?” (you just never know in this house).  I guess I should preface this by saying that my boys need very little sleep.  Owen never naps (at home).  On occasion he’ll fall asleep in the car, but for the most part all three of our boys require the minimum amount of sleep (I’m sure this will change once they are teenagers).  Joe said that he gave Owen a snack at the table.  After a while it became very quiet in the kitchen, never a good sign.  Joe came downstairs to see what Owen was up to and found him all curled up and sound asleep on the chair.  Seriously, this NEVER happens!  Joe took about 75 pics with my camera :).  I was very impressed.  He switched lenses and settings and even used my big ole flash.  All his hard work paid off.  This is a great shot!!!  Owen slept about 45 minutes.  Of course that night we put him to bed at 8:30 and he didn’t fall asleep until 11:00!  That’s the price we pay for naptime!

Julie - Way to go, Joe! Very impressive.
If we let our 2 year old fall asleep during the day, she won’t go to bed either!

kris - Nice job, Joe. Owen looks like one of the cats all curled up. Once when I was out (Matt in charge) I came home to a sleeping Jane on a stair step…yep just one… and Matt didn’t even know it:)

Jeanie DeTemple - At first glance, this looks like Truitt…, Owen is getting big.
Very cute picture, Joe!

Joe - Thanks for the compliment on the picture, but as Melissa had eluded to in the blog post —-it took me 75 photos to get one that was worthy of a post. I, on the other hand, felt they were all worthy, not because of the quality of the photos but because of the always cute subject matter. I love that kid!

Laura Speelman - Good job son! Atleast he wasnt getting in trouble while you were watching him. Just kidding. He does look so cute, good picture, even if it took 70 some pictures to get this good shot. You boys would fall asleep sometimes , like standing up leaning over a couch. Anyway it brings back happy memories, thanks for getting that shot. Love, MOM

Dana Darbyshire - I love this picture. It captures Owen’s sweetness. I also love Joe’s comment which I have to admit brought a tear to my eye.
