Josh Ferris will be deploying for Iraq Tuesday morning, October 16th, at 4am.  Josh is the son of my boys’ second “mom”, Kim.  I have known Josh for the past eight years- ever since Isaac was just six weeks old.  The kids all love him and he’s so good with them.  I have seen Josh grow into quite a strong and honorable young man.  The Army has given him a certain gleam in his eye and pride in his smile.  I could see it as soon as he returned from basic training.  I want Josh to know how proud we all are of him and that he will be in our prayers everyday.  Take a moment, even if you are just a lurker out there, and leave a comment for Josh.  He’s taking a laptop over with him.  I’d like for him to be able to see the incredible support he has back here at home.  Thank you!

Ferris' (Up the Street) - PFC Josh,

We love you man! It has been so much fun to watch you mature into the man that you are. When you get home we will have to fire up something special on the grill. Know that daily our prayers are with you and your comrades as well. Right after you deployed, I went to my Dad’s 60th LST Naval Reunion. It was encouraging to hear their stories, testimonies of their faith in God’s protection, and to see the bond that these guys had for each other after all those years. Stay strong in His word and we will see you at home before you know it. (Can you smell the grill?)

Thanks for you Service, Blessings, and We Love You!

Chris Kearns - Its awsome what your doin for our country out there in Iraq!!! Not many people would have the guts to risk so much to save so many people. Not any ordinary person could do that. You have to be strong and have the will to do it. Its actually more than our country that you are serving. It is the entire world. I think that anyone who can come out and say “I want to be in the army,” is already a hero. Thanks sp much for what you do. Just keep it up!!!!!!!

Madge Patrick - Dear Josh,

Just a short message to let you know you are in my heart and in my prayers. Prayers for your safety, wisdom for decisions you must make, adjustment to the conditions and the day-to-day things you must do.

As you look up into the sky at night and see the many stars, remember our God is watching over you and the people that are praying for you are like the stars in the night sky – to numerous to count.

A big hug to you,
Madge Patrick

Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
