This is clearly not my usual subject matter to photograph. I had the opportunity to go to a junkyard today and photograph, well- JUNK! It was so much fun! My shoes are a disaster, but it was well worth it. The highlight of the field trip was when the crane operator picked up a full size van and tore it to pieces. Then he picked up another car and threw it across the lot. Instead of photographing that part I video taped it to show the boys. I’ll try to post the video later for you to see. It was very refreshing to point my camera lens at something totally different today.

Jani - How did this opportunity come about? Looks like it was a fun adventure into rusty, metal land — you need a cool metal soundtrack to go with these photos. Love the tricycle shots, they are telling of how children grow and the moments you were so excited for when they were little are replaced with new experiences. Very cool photos!
Jodi Kinasewitz - Only YOU could make JUNK look this cool!
jess korner - I told you that you could take a picture of something like an old boot and it would be AWESOME!!!
Very cool.
Amanda - love theses!! Would you mind sharing what (if any) photoshop actions you used on these. I LOVE all the texture and the colors are fantastic!
Mel - Thanks all! Amanda- I used Red Leaf’s Colorflow on the tricycle pics and I just adjusted the others slightly in Lighroom. Hope that helps!
Mel - Jani- I belong to a local photography group (Club Blatz). Every now and then they have field trips. This is the first one I have ever attended. I’m hoping to go on the Underground tour of Cincinnati next!!!
Abby P. - Wow — you know you’re good when you can make even JUNK look awesome! I think the shot from the rear of the tricycle wheel is my fave!
