Last baseball game of the season
Last night was Isaac and Joe’s very last game of the season. They went all the way to the District finals. In the first photo you will see the hit that eventually led to the first run scored by Isaac for his team. Sadly, they did not win last night. Isaac, who is always the optimist, had no regrets. He had a blast with his teammates all season. Plus, Joe was able to help coach the team and I know that meant a lot to Isaac. We still went out for ice cream after the game too (that always helps to soften a loss).
We’re home and this is how I feel . . .
Ahhhh, it’s *so* nice to be home. Camping in 90 degree+ weather was pretty darn exhausting. I thought this photo captured exactly how I feel today. I have LOADS of photos to go through, but I wanted post at least one for now. This was taken on the ferry boat on our way back from Put-in-Bay- note the red pop all over Elle’s shirt. I think she had a sugar hangover after this

Bicycle Days
Campingpalooza is almost over! So one last guest post, this one checking in on Mike and family.
Baby Everett got to experience his first Shelby Bicycle Days Parade yesterday. As you can see from these pictures his Grandma took, he was not too impressed. It doesn’t actually look like Ivan was having the time of his life either! But I’m sure I good time was had by all!
Still 300 miles away
Even though my sister is camping, I just mapped it and we are still 300 miles apart! If you haven’t checked out our blog together, 300 miles, where we each post a picture every day, this is a good week to check it out. Despite the intense heat and humidity, swarms of gnats, and lack of laptop, Melissa has figured out a way to get her pics to me straight from the campground.
Elle’s excellent camping adventure
Grandma visited the Speelman Family Campingpalooza campsite yesterday and reports back through pictures. Of course my favorite pictures were of that cutie-patootie Elle: Elle loving a dog, with a messy face, Elle and her daddy, with her Mom, and Isaac feeding her ice cream. So we know Elle is having fun. Melissa will have to fill us in on how everyone else’s trip was!
Red, white and blueberry
I know, I know, when Melissa goes out of town, I fill in with blogs about food. Well I love food! And here’s some more. For a friend’s Fourth of July festivity I needed to make something delicious that did not require turning on the oven. And here is a red white and blue trifle, recipe courtesy of Martha Stewart. It was soooo good! And it was gone in under 20 minutes after sitting it on the table. I highly recommend making one before berry season is over.
My mom will be posting next with after she visits the campsite tomorrow.
Campingpalooza!
It’s official . . . today is the very first day of Speelman CAMPINGPALOOZA!!! We’ll be camping for a good solid week, but don’t fear- B will still be posting to frecklephoto so be sure to check in! I’ll still be posting photos on 300miles via cell phone. It will be a new challenge for me to get decent pics on my phone. Of course I hope to have lots of camping pics when I return!
