Although I’m not a scrapbooker, I still love checking in on Ali Edwards from time to time. Her blog gave me the idea for my “10 Reasons I Love You” books. I love diving into a good project. I recently read on her blog that her Week in the Life project is happening from October 27th through November 2nd. I have always wanted to try my own version of this project through photos, film or maybe a bit of both. I always hesitate to commit to it since our lives are typically insane August through June :). One of the things I LOVED about my 300Miles project with my sister and Four Speelmans Weekly was that both projects forced me to take more photos of everyday moments. Many of those images are among my favorites. I really want to give Week in the Life a try. Why don’t you join me? Take a look at Ali’s project HERE . Don’t be afraid to modify it to fit your busy life. . . that’s what I plan to do:). Stay tuned!
This past weekend was the St. Vincent Ferrer festival. I was in charge of the Face Painting booth. I worked with the Jr. High students last week at a face painting workshop to get them ready for the festival. They all did such a great job! The festival was a huge success, but I am WORN OUT. I brought my camera everyday, but wasn’t able to break away from the booth until Sunday to take photos. However, I was able to take a few pics with my iPhone Friday and Saturday (Instagram shots at the bottom). One of my favorite quotes is “The best camera is the one that you have with you.” -Chase Jarvis. I wholeheartedly agree :).
We travel to Fort Walton Beach each year in August. It’s our tradition to stop overnight in Prattville, Alabama . . . always in the same hotel. In 2009 I took a photo of all four kids in the hotel room and it’s become a tradition to take the same photo each year. I just got around to finding this years photo. It’s hard to believe how much time has passed since that first photo.
Here are a few highlights from Instagram over the summer. I consider Instagram my photo “sketchbook” All photos are taken with my iPhone with the exception of a few with my Go Pro. I have a Lifeproof waterproof case that I’m not afraid to dunk underwater, but I primarily used my GoPro in the ocean this summer. It’s easier to hang on to and it takes incredible underwater pics!
