This is will definitely be one of the tougher challenges for me. I’m not a huge fan of seeing myself in photos, but it’s necessary. My kids need to see me in photos years from now and they need to see you too. So suck it up and get in the frame :). We all know how to take a selfie, but I challenge you to also try some unique ways of capturing your beautiful self. Try shooting reflections or shadows. I also feel much better taking a selfie if my kids or friends are in the frame as well. Above all, have fun and don’t be too critical on this one!
A bird’s eye view is the opposite of a bug’s eye view. For this challenge you will be shooting from directly above your subject. I always love using this unique point of view! Be creative!!
Great Perspective!
I LOVE photographing water . . . all kinds. I love lakes, ponds, streams, rain, pools, sprinklers, oceans and even puddles. Your challenge this week is to photograph your kids (or someone elses’) interacting with water in some way. You do not need a waterproof camera, just a little creativity. Look around your community and I’m sure you’ll find some unique place to shoot. In fact, this challenge will work in your own backyard (or bathtub). Look for interesting angles and lighting. You might even want to try shooting during the “golden hour” which is one hour before sunset. Thanks to everyone who has posted photoed photos! They have been AWESOME!! Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with this week!
This is just one of the incredible things at City Museum in St. Louis (I could literally go on forever about how incredible this place is). As you may know, Owen LOVES all things aviation. He BEGGED me to climb up to this plane which wasn’t easy. He found a little soul mate and they assumed the roles of pilots . . . it was was the sweetest thing. You may notice Owen radioing the tower in one of the shots above. He was THRILLED to climb around the plane and even on top of it. Such a great experience for him :).
