Pinewood Derby

Friday night was the annual Pinewood Derby at St. Vincent.  I wasn’t sure we were going to make it in time.  We were literally watching and waiting for the paint to dry on the boys cars.  Once we arrived, the boys weighed in and both cars were over the weight limit.  Thankfully Mr. Kastner (Truitt’s friend Sam’s dad) helped to drill holes into the cars and remove weights so that the cars qualified to race.  Truitt’s hammerhead shark car placed first in the first race, second place in the second and finally third place in his last race.  Isaac’s Lego car took second place in his first three races.  Neither of the boys made it to the finals, but that’s o.k.- they had a blast rooting for their friends.  It was such a hectic evening I totally forgot to get a photo of the boys with their cars.  I’ll try to do that sometime today and add the images to this post.  All in all it was a fun evening, I know the boys will have great memories of this.
