Snow Day/Sick Day

The boys and I all had a snow day today, however we already knew that we wouldn’t be going to school becuase last night all three boys had fevers.  Isaac had the “high score” (as the boys said) with a fever of 103.2.  Luckily no one has beaten that “score”.  In fact, all three are in pretty good spirits today- the fevers are down a bit, but they are all still pretty lathargic.  So we hunkered down in the basement with our pj’s on and watched a movie together- even Elle who hung out in the bean bag.

Joe has been on an insane Lego kick.  For those of you who have boys who love putting together those massive Lego sets only to dismantle them hours later, know how impossible it is to actually find all the pieces again and re-assemble them.  Well, Joe is prepared to prove you wrong.  Over the past week Joe has organized all the Legos by color, downloaded the instructions for the many Stars Wars Lego ships we own and begun the daunting task of re-assembling them.  Amazingly, he has re-built two of the big ships with only a handful of pieces missing (which he has ordered online).  I have never met a person with such perserverance (or maybe we should call it obsessive-compulsion).  At any rate, the boys are beyond thrilled to have these ships back in tact.  They are also taking great care to keep them that way :).

Laura Speelman - Sorry the kids were ill. It would be more fun on a snow day if they were well. Great pictures of Elle! Joe is his fathers son. I know boys were probably happy to get those legos together again. With Tom, I think there is something more important to work on and he is just trying to get out of it. I am sure that wasnt the way with Joe.

Barb - Well, I have to actually say now that Joe and I are cut from the same mold. I too have spent hours rebuilding Legos that Kaleb has torn apart. He is usually very careful not to break any but he likes to share them with others and then they get broken apart. I told him the other day, that I would try to re-esemble those that have broken once I have a spare moment. Here is the hint though, when one gets broken take it away, put it into a ziploc, this way the pieces don’t get lost (that is if you are actually able to get to it before the kids lose the pieces). Hope the boys get better! Elle is changing so fast :o(
