Trick-or-treat!

I wanted to share some pics from Halloween night.  It always seems to be one of the toughest nights to get good photos.  Nobody wants to stand still for a picture and I guess I can’t blame them.  The kids had a blast trick-or-treating.  Elle never wanted to stop.  She even roped my neighbor Melvin into taking her out again.  The weather couldn’t have been more perfect.  What a fun night!

Danelle Johnson - Hi there,
I have followed your blog for a bit. You have such a wonderful eye for photography, but not only that, I can tell you knowledge of it is top notch. I don’t believe photography is all due to the type of camera, but more the eye behind it, so at times I cringe when someone asks what type of camera and lens are you using as if that’s the reason the images are so nice. So I hesitate to ask you that, but please know that I can tell you have a keen eye and brain for great shooting. I shoot Canon and am really looking to improve with some additional lenses and I can’t decide what I need or even want. If you wouldn’t mind sharing what you shoot with and what are your favorite lenses, I would love to hear. Your photography is honestly some of the best I have seen from not only content, but image quality. Did I see that you are a teacher full time?

Thanks for sharing!

Melissa - Danelle- Thanks so much for your sweet note! Here is a post from a while back that lists all my gear . . . http://frecklephoto.com/?p=3291 . I haven’t added anything new since then. I still shoot primarily with my 35mm, not that I don’t like my other lenses. I just get a little lazy about switching. My second fav is probably my 24-70 2.4. It’s the only zoom lens I own. It’s so versatile plus it has a nice low aperture. I know what you mean about people sometimes thinking it’s the camera that makes the shot. Right now I’m really trying to delve into video with my 5D. I’ve seen such INCREDIBLE video shot with my camera yet my video is light years away from that kind of quality. I know first hand that the camera is only as good as it’s user. BTW, love the snow pics on your blog! BEAUTIFUL!!!
