Today was Owen’s first day of pre-school. I really thought I was completely ready for the moment I dropped him off in his homeroom. To my surprise, I wasn’t. I don’t think Owen was either. He didn’t actually cry when I left, but the look in his eye was not one of comfort. His buddy Jack had not arrived at school yet. I spoke with Jodi later that morning and she said that when they arrived it seemed that Owen had been crying, but one look at Jack and he was just fine. I’m so very glad they have one another. I also had to take Lucy to be put down today. Again, I thought I was totally ready for this. She is nineteen years old and looks pretty worse for the wear. However, once I took her through the doors I just couldn’t hold back the tears. She’s been such a good companion to all of us. We miss you Lucy.
